Steam Train Chase – Chattanooga to Summerville

We will meet Saturday, September 30th at the Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum in Chattanooga at 8:00 am and leave around 8:30-8:45 to chase and photograph the train. Our first stop will most likely be the Missionary Ridge Tunnel, but I’m still working on our itinerary. We’ll try to hit some new spots as well as some old favorites, and I’ll have a printed itinerary with GPS coordinates and addresses available the morning of the trip. I’ll also post the itinerary once it’s finalized.

Carpooling is recommended since some of the locations along the route have limited parking. Based on weather and daylight, we’ll try to chase the train all the way back to Chattanooga, but you’re free to join or leave the trip anywhere along the route.

This trip is always a lot of fun, and we look forward to seeing you!

*PS – If you can’t make the September 30th trip, we’re tentatively scheduling another NGPC chase on November 5th. The train is running multiple times between now and November 5th, so check out the TVRM website at https://www.tvrail.com/ for details. You can also chase the train on October 7, 14, 15, 21, 22, 28, and November 4, but the NGPC trips will be September 30th and November 5th.
