NGPC September Meeting

The speaker for our September meeting is Mary Jo Cox, who will be discussing “Bear Photography.” Mary Jo is a local photographer who resides in Big Canoe, Georgia. She specializes in the wonders of wildlife and nature. The creative process occurs within the heart and eye first, then within the lens. She has traveled all over the world and North America from India, Ecuador, Mexico, Canada, Alaska and the lower 48 including Washington, Yellowstone, the Rockies, Northern Minnesota, to Maine, always looking to capture the wonders of Mother Nature and our natural surroundings. She specializes in bears and wildlife. Nature and wildlife are her passions, and through photography, she loves to share it with the world.

THE PHOTO CHALLENGE THEME FOR SEPTEMBER IS “VANISHING POINT.”

CHALLENGE RULES FOR 2024:

Based on your suggestions, we have made some changes to the format and rules of the monthly challenges:

1. You must be a PAID member to enter the monthly photo challenge.

2. Only ONE digital image per photographer. No composites, your own work.

3. You do NOT need to be present to enter or place.

4. No images older than two years from month of the challenge.

Image should be submitted by 8 PM on MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 16TH to ensure it will be included at the meeting.
NEW! 5. We will have independent judges critiquing and selecting the winning images each month. If a club member is judging a particular month, they will not be able to enter an image that month.

NEW! 6. The winning image each month will win a $15 gift card.

7. Points will be rewarded for first through fifth place, and at the end of the year, the club member with the most points will win our annual Photographer of the Year award. THE PHOTOGRAPHER OF THE YEAR WILL WIN $100 and FREE MEMBERSHIP FOR 2025!
