NGPC May Meeting – John Seibel: “Putting the Wild Back Into Your Wildlife Photography”

May 20, 2022 @ 8:00 pm - 10:00 pm

Join us for our May meeting at our new home – the Bowen Center for the Arts! Yes, we will be in person again at the Bowen, 334 GA-9, Dawsonville, GA. Parking is very limited, so you will need to park next door to the Bowen in the Dawson County Junior High parking lot. And for those who are unable to attend the meeting, we will also be broadcasting live on Zoom. Use this link to join the meeting.
Our speaker will be professional photographer John Seibel, who will be discussing “Putting the Wild Back Into Your Wildlife Photography.” John suggests maybe the subtitle should be “Or, how to put some life back into your wildlife photos.” What can a photographer do to make images of animals more compelling and interesting beyond beautiful frame filling illustrations (which are wonderful and have their place)? It really has to do with tips, techniques, and strategies to make your wildlife shots more interesting.
John specializes in photographing sunsets, sunrises, nature, landmarks, architecture, and a variety of other sights that we often miss or overlook in the hurried pace of life – or while we sleep. In addition to creative use of light, he applies the three Ps to his photography: Patience, Placement, and Perseverance. His philosophy is, “You can’t get the shot that isn’t there, and you can’t get a shot if you’re not there.” His work and array of services can be seen at his website: https://www.johnseibelphotography.com
