NGPC January Meeting

January 21, 2022 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Join us for our January meeting online! We will be doing the meeting on Zoom. Use this link to join the meeting.
The meeting password is 351368.
Our speaker will be photographer and educator John Deas, who will be discussing “Drone Photography.” This will be an introductory course on the basic rules for flying a drone. Topics to be discussed include the differences between a hobbyist vs a Part 107 certificate holder, FAA testing, general safety rules, legal issues, flying in controlled access areas, terminology, restricted areas, image quality, and learning to fly.
John began taking photographs at the age of 4 using his grandfather’s old Brownie camera. He has taken thousands of images using a variety of cameras. He makes images of the things he truly loves, specializing in landscapes and nature photography. John has led photography workshops to numerous locations such, as Everglades National Park, Yosemite National Park, Bodie, Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Acadia National Park, Yellowstone National Park, Grand Teton National Park, and the Canadian Rockies. Some of his other favorite locations are the many waterfalls in West Virginia and North Carolina as well as the Outer Banks of North Carolina. John is also a Part 107 certified Drone Pilot. His work has recently been on display in various galleries throughout the Southeast.
The Photo Challenge theme for January is “MOUNTAINS.”
