Our speaker will be professional nature photographer Tom Wilson, who will be discussing “Chattahoochee: A Photo Location That Has It All.” We all love getting a chance to visit a world class nature photography venue such as Bosque Del Apache in New Mexico or maybe the Great Smoky Mountains National Park in Tennessee and North Carolina, but what if a world class photography location was situated right here in the Atlanta Metropolitan area? What if it had beautiful scenic locations including rapids and cliffs and tumbling streams coupled with a dazzling array of wildflowers and a wide diversity of trees? What if that location also had everything from Bald Eagles and Great Horned Owls to Spotted Sandpipers? What if it also had mammals like North American River Otters and Beavers? Well, that location does exist! It’s called the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area.
Tom has been photographing the Chattahoochee River for over 20 years. His Chattahoochee River photos have been widely published by numerous organizations as well as in newspapers and magazines, on posters and MARTA buses. He is past Vice President of GNPA and currently serves as Communication Committee Chairman. Tom will tailor the presentation to nature photographers giving them suggestions for good photographic locations depending on subject and time of year.
If you haven’t done so already, you can still pay your 2022 membership dues. The dues are $20/year for an individual and $30/year for a family. For more information about the benefits of paid membership or to become a paid member, visit the
