Join us for an online Workshop on Becoming a More Intuitive Photographer! We will be doing part 1 of the workshop via Zoom, with part 2 to follow in the field. This is a paid-member only workshop; both workshops are free to paid NGPC members! Please see the event listing in the members only Facebook page for more details.
Our speaker for this Workshop is professional artist and photographer Anna DeStefano. Anna spoke about Creative Photography at our September meeting last year, and now she returns for a Workshop on Becoming a More Intuitive Photographer.
Anna’s frequently asked why and how she creates her often unique images, taken from perspectives others tend not to consider. Learning more about her creative process each time she heads out to shoot, Anna’s concluded that in fact she doesn’t have ONE approach. Instead, she walks into each opportunity to capture affirmational and healing images, listening and watching and responding to the situation in which she finds herself. Planning, experience and skill are crucial, yes. But even more important is being present in her environment and reacting to what’s happening in the moment. You’ll often find Anna on the outskirts of a group, shooting the sky when others are focused on water (or vise versa). She’s lying on the ground, hanging out in the bushes, panning trees and landscapes, shooting into the heart of flowers… And that’s just the beginning. The REAL fun for her happens in post-processing, when she artistically takes just the right image to the next level.
Join her to discuss creative and technical tips for connecting with your muse and working more intuitively the next time YOU venture out with your camera–or fire up Lightroom/Photoshop to play with what your lens has discovered!
This is part one of a two-part workshop. On Sunday, June 26th, Anna will lead a workshop at the State Botanical Gardens of Georgia in Athens. This will be a morning follow-up, in-the-field shoot. There are always botanicals there to be creative with, and by late June the hummingbirds should be active. More details will be posted after the Online Workshop.
