The balloon launch to start the race, at sunrise. The audience is allowed to wander among the balloons as they are being set up and launched. Please see helenballoon.com for the location of the launch field and rules regarding COVID-19. We will meet at the launch field as early as anyone wants to arrive. Liftoff is at 7:00 am, and the crews will be inflating for a while before that. The ballooning will be over by 7:30 am unless you choose to chase them by car.

For those that are working on this day, there will be another balloon liftoff on Saturday, June 5th at 7 am. Those balloons might be tethered, but it’s still fun to watch them be inflated and float in the air.
