Our speaker will be professional nature photographer Eric Bowles, who will be discussing “A Judge’s Perspective: Tips for Contests and Improving Your Images.” What does a judge think about images they see in photo competitions? What images are successful in competitions and why? Judges are different, and view images from their own perspective, but when they start evaluating images it’s not unusual for a consensus to emerge with some common themes about what is good – and not so good. Learn tips from a photo judge and ideas to assess your images with a judge’s eye.

Eric Bowles is an Atlanta based professional nature photographer specializing in the southeastern states. As a photo educator, he provides photo tours, workshops and training both independently and as Director of Nikonians Academy. Eric’s photography has been exhibited in galleries, purchased by corporate and individual collectors, and published in books and magazines. He is also well known as a judge and speaker. He has been trained in judging photos by Professional Photographers of America, and judges both digital and print competitions for a variety of groups, galleries and museums.
